    Anyone ever heard of 'em? Downloadplace

    29.95 a year for unlimited downloads. 39.95 for a lifetime subscription. Sounds fishy to me.

    any site that sells content like that and claims to be legal is bullshitting you. No way in hell would the MPAA allow movie downloads like that.

    Beware of downloadplace.com and directdownloader.com. They are making you believe that they have a huge collection of great music and other stuff available for download, all for a flat fee of $29.95 per year. Yeah right, it turns out they have nothing on their server, and if they did, that would of course be illegal. What you get for your money is a crappy P2P software that opens your computer wide to attack for all kinds of hackers. This POS software even requires you to totally open your firewall both incoming and outgoing in order for the software to function. As those gangsters are not located in the US, the FBI can't do much about it.

    It sounds like a scam.

    I download my dvd's from Usenet. Several thousand, so far ;)
