Philosophically, isn't the actual error in the sending of "secret" signals out in the open where everyone can see? Paparazzi can film anything they see, why can't NFL opponents? If he observed with his eyes, then wrote the results onto a notepad, would it be any different? What if he observed and memorized, then transcribed later? IMO, the impetus to secrecy is on the signaler, not the observer.

Philosophically speaking football is a sport, and as a sport should abide by the rules of good sportsmanship. However, being a business blurs that a bit.

incredible team, maybe the best ever - but they're tainted now, and always will be. doesn't make them suck, doesn't make them anything other than f'ing great - w/ a little taint on the side (like our '03 team has a bit of taint on the side - except nobody remembers the losers).

A little taint improves the flavor.

    So you agree they cheated?

Jeezy Creezy, did you go the the Belichick school of bullshit or what?

They were accused of doing this last year against other teams too, so that excuse doesn't wash. They were warned by the commish to stop it last year, yet they continued to ignore it and got caught a year later. This was no isolated incident. It was obviously a continued practise that would still be going on if Mangini didnt squeel.

Im certaintly not out to try and strip NE of their titles. But they won all those titles by a margin of 3 points in each SB, thats a fact, all those games were close matches. I honesly cant say that their cheating couldnt have aided in a 3 point margin of victory. They probably gained a slight edge by cheating (otherwise why do it) and they won by slight margins.
So fuck Belichick, run up the score all you like this year, i dont give a flying fuck.

And back to point of the actual thread. I too would love to see the Fins class finally be shut up. But it'll be bitter sweet if the Pats do it, god damn I so wish the Colts won last weekend. It was bad enough having to listen to Dynesty this Dynesty that, i dont think i could handle an undefeated season too.
