I quit listening to this stupid show (and I gained 50 I.Q. points almost instantaeously) about 6 or 8 months ago because I couldn't take any more Tar Heel talk or "scumbag Dodgers" cracks. That must have been in the middle of football season, end of the baseball season and college basketball was getting ready to crank up. Tar Heel football was pitiful, but somehow the host decided it still warranted discussion day after day. It was the same thing every single day!!!

So I happen to tune in one day this week for about 5 minutes just to see what was happening. Same old garbage. Tar Heels and scumbag Dodgers. Does this dope have an original thought in his head? I did hear him cracking about how easy it is to be a country music DJ. 24 in a row, etc., etc. Yea, it has to be a real challange to do his job. Throw out the same two tired subjects, take calls from the same insipid callers saying the same stupid things every day.

    XM, you're a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Working from 3-11pm now, I'm missing Packman's Southern Fried Football Chatter, QCB & Hayseed doing their tired ass schitck, and the members of TARHEEL NATION defending their school for the umpteenth time. I guess with Roy Williams coaching the Tarheels now, Pack has fresh material for the show for the next several months!!!!!!! With college hoops season over with, is Packman counting down the days until he reveals his 2003 SOUTHERN FRIED FOOTBALL TOUR SCHEDULE  ? ?

    i'm with boone...

I also gave up on packer months ago, and got applause for it at work, too.

i see him almost everywhere, tho. his show was never, is never and won't ever be good. maybe for this market, but his crap wouldn't last in others.

then again, isn't most sports talk radio around the country all call-in and bitch?

I haven't listed to Primetime in several months. The antenna in my car is hosed, so I can't even get it. In the mornings, I listen to some of the Page. I enjoy that show, they have some sharp humor on there.

It has to be the Charlotte market!!!!!!

Ratings for the station keep going up and up if you look at the ARBITRON ratings . . . The books must be falling in with folks who live within the CLT city limits; we all know that their 5k watt signal doesn't go far beyond them. Despite being a financial center, Charlotte is still a good ol boy town. If this wasn't so, Packer's schtick wouldn't be getting many listeners, right  ? ?

Havn't listened in at least 5 months. Pretty much after all the contract rumor bullshit. Like he was leaving FNZ. If they would talk more sports and less "Vanseed" Hayseed crap I might try again. But I doubt it. Sportingnews radio and Dan Patrick on ESPN radio in the afternoon is LIGHT years better than anything FNZ puts out

I'm still listening, though, that XM Radio thing is beginning to sound good... Though, I've become quite adept at thrashing through the 6 FM presets and the scan button while also navigating afternoon traffic.

Amazingly, PT really is the same old show. The strength is in the call-in guests and the rotation of in-studio co-hosts. The Observer crew (Sorenson, David Poole, Stan Olson) are - in my opinion - far and away the best co-hosts.

I'm astounded that for $125k per year, no one expects Packer to try and push the creative envelope. (Though he's probably reading this, laughing and wondering why re-invent the wheel, even if the wheel's tired and unimaginitive) It's amazing, to me that they can engage in a great conversation, and Packer will break it off so QCB can get his air time. I guess it's a sponsored deal, because why go away from good dialogue for QCB's schtick?

If I ran the alumni association where DJ Stout graduated, I'd been all over him for donations. Just think, if he'll give that kind of money for Packer and that show, no telling what he'd give for a worthy cause...

Having travelled around the country a little bit, especially in the SE, FNZ is really not that bad compare to the crap, say in Atlanta. Now they suck.
