it's all fun hype,, you know like before a boxing match,, that's what makes it newsworthy and why everyone is talking about it,,

the same thing Art Donovan goes around on talk shows telling everyone how much tougher they were in the day than players are today,,, and he's right

I will be very surprised that if Indy goes undefeated the 72 Dolphins won't welcome them to the club with open arms,, that Shula team was always class,, I know,, I have been an avid fan since 1966, I was born in Miami and since I was 5 years when the Dolphins were formed I have been screaming about that Prevent Defense,, well that was mostly in the Shula years,,, LOL

,, that 72 team were never shit talkers like you have today,,, NO NAME kind of explains that,,

the media is making a lot of it like they always have when a team is undefeated at this point of the season and the old guys are having some fun with it,, I can't remember one guy who wasn't a class act on that team including Mercury Morris who got into trouble years later,, I mean come on the kicker was a tie salesman,, LOL

Csonka wouldn't even do a dance in the end zone,, half the time he just tossed the ball to the ref,, they never showed their ass

    Isn't the record 17 - 0?

How about this. The Colts go 16 - 0 in the regular season, with theplayoff game and the AFC Championship game to go 18 - 0.

    Buoniconti dies of depression.

Panthers beat the Colts in the Super Bowl.

This wasn't innocent banter. Anyone can tell the difference between someone talking shit because they enjoy doing that (riddel) and someone who talks shit because they're an asshole (me). Those Dolphins are definitely assholes (although Don Shula is first class all the way).

I do not know why they make such a big deal out of going undefeated. I am more impressed by teams that win multiple superbowls than I am by the 1972 Dolphins. I would not even put that team in my top five best of all time.

According to NFL writer Peter King, Colts head coach Tony Dungy said that he will rest his starters as soon as his team can clinch home-field advantage in the AFC. "It's really kind of a no-brainer," said Dungy. "As soon as the games aren't meaningful in the standings, [resting starters to preserve them for the playoffs] is something we'll think about. They don't give out rings for being 16-0." - NFL.com

Thier record for consecutive games has already been broken, by the Pats.

The Houston Texans would slaughter the 72 Dolphins.

It isn't until you watch film from those days that you realize how bad many of those players were. Some like Jim Brown could play in any era, but a lot of those guys were stiffs who would never get a look in the NFL today.
