i saw a head shot of him. full beard, almost shaved head. not to sound weird or anything, but i've love a good shot of him this year. everyone keeps talking about how he looks bigger and stronger. i've stood within ten feet of him every year at training camp and always thought to myself, "he's a monster."
the fact that he could be any bigger is freakin' scary.

Peppers is going to have a huge year at RDE. We made a mistake by not signing him to a contract extension this off-season, because he's going to get the biggest contract for a defender in league history.

Good Point. He's primed to do just that.

He'll be very good on the right side, I agree with you. I love the fact that he's left handed too, which will give left tackles a different look than their used to when he counters and tries to rip inside.

Gross and Peppers are going to cost a truck load of money next year. I really don't think we keep both :(

Probably, but that's the beauty of hind sight. It was a gamble either way. They could've just as easily signed him to a huge contract and watched him go Kris Jenkins, mailing it in for the next 4 seasons.

In some ways, it's still a gamble. Sure, he looks like a beast now, but what if he fails a performance enhancing drug test? What if he goes down early with an injury? What kind of a contract do you give him then?

No, every indication is that Gross is gone, at minimum. JR seems to love Peppers, so I think it's likely he'll be willing to break the bank to keep him. Not knowing how the deals are currently structured, I'm thinking he may approach Jake and Smitty to restructure their deals. Maybe a few other guys, too.

It's no different than the gamble you take on a rookie, a big dollar vet FA, or even extending someone else already on the team.
