    if it's just a sprain he could go on PUP and be back by week 4 or 5. However, if he is going to be frail we already have enough of those and maybe he doesn't stick. Thankfully we've got that depth

    Panthers | Diggs told ACL is intact
    Thu, 24 Aug 2006 21:47:09 -0700

    Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers LB Na'il Diggs (knee) does not believe his injury is severe and was told his ACL is intact. Diggs was injured during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 24. Head coach John Fox did not have the details on the extent of the injury and Diggs was replaced by LB Keith Adams Thursday. The team could use LB Chris Draft or LB Adam Seward if Diggs is out for a long time.

    Doesn’t it usually take 4 to 6 weeks for a sprain (assuming)?

    So something like this until Diggs is back -


    W - Adams / Draft / Anderson
    M - Morgan / Seward / Draft
    S - Davis / Draft / Seward

    Panthers | Diggs to have MRI Friday

    The Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers LB Na'il Diggs (knee) was on crutches and wearing a knee brace after the team's preseason game and he said he would undergo an MRI on Friday, Aug. 25. "I got tripped up and caught up with some other players and it just got twisted up," said Diggs, who missed seven games last season with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee. "It feels different this time. Hopefully it's not as bad."

    A player has to fail his precamp physical to be eligible for the PUP. The choices now are IR, keep him on the roster, or cut him.

    It didn't look that bad to me, but you can't always tell. Mathis looked like a shoulder stinger, nothing too serious. He wasn't playing that well anyway. Good to see that Shaun Williams talked his way back into the game and then made some hits. If a guy has an injury history, I like to know that it's not just him being a pussy (this means you, Danica).
