I strongly disagree that it's crazy to even think about. Each guy has a high cap number, but each guy would fill a need for each team. While I believe each team could survive without the departed player. An extension with Hardy is a pipe dream and Jackson would probably be the cheaper player in 2015 and beyond.

From Philly perspective you have to get Hardy to a long term deal. Maybe even as little as 3 yrs but probably longer. Still, a great pass rusher trumps a WR any day. A straight up trade 1 for 1 is insane for the Panthers.
Now if they throw in a high pick then maybe but then Philly's risk goes up.

This won't happen. DJ is a pro bowl wideout but it is risky at his cap number without losing ANYONE. 10m is too much for almost all wideouts in less you are crazy and the guy has no issues. Gettleman is laughing at these reports.

Also, Philly shopping him to begin with is a red flag. I don't see them releasing him but who knows. We can't afford him without some major (probably crazy) move anyway.

We probably just draft the best 3 WRs we can find when we pick and move on. We will sign at least 1 vet. LOT is the biggest need to me. I will keep saying that until we have ANYONE who can block someone there.

Hardy is not a great pass rusher. He's a very good pass rusher, but we already have one of those in CJ, plus a good defensive scheme that generates pressure. What we clearly don't have is a big play threat on offense. The Eagles have plenty of cap room to sign Hardy long term. We don't.

We disagree on how valuable Hardy is I guess. No worries. I do love the fact that I get to see the Panthers picking offensive talent for a change.

Honestly I would feel risk with picking up DJ in FA at that number. He wants more money too...10m for a WR? Not this guy.

I specifically don't like Jackson in the locker room, and he has seriously dogged it on the field.

If it were a high character guy with the same talent level I would be open to investigating possibilities. But then, if he were high character, they probably wouldn't be shopping him.

I don't believe Hardy is worth eight figures annually. Jackson isn't either, but he would bring something to the table that we desperately need.

Totally hear you man cut Hardy "might" be worth that kinda salary. Around 10m sounds nice. We need WR so that is understandable and Cats fans are restless. We will find some wideouts. I trust Gettleman here, in fact agree with him. His model will work and may be a standard soon. IMO. DJ being all bitchy at 10m is hiliarious. The market says NO bitch, you need to be happy as fuck.

It's not a move I would expect Fat Bastard to make.

When, if, he feels like it. Google his name and dogging, quitting, etc. He admitted it too.

He's great when he tries. Classic million dollar talent ten cent head.

You could say that about Hardy too.
