This from the BBC, in a story on Britney Spears:

"Music is my heart and soul and that's what I'm going to do, but I think right now acting is so much fun, it's a whole new ballgame and a new territory and I want to focus on that right now," she said.

Asked if an Oscar was one of her ambitions, she said:"That would be very nice, that would be something I can dream about."

She has two new films in the pipeline, it was revealed.

"One of them is an intense relationship movie, and the other is an ensemble dramatic piece which is multi-generational," according to the Crossroads
producer, Ann Carli.

Hopefully, she find her niche in prawn.

Three generations of McPeters have gone to the prestigious Whorter College, but Bunny McPeters (played by Britney Spears), at a crossroads in her life, decides to break ranks. With her parents out of the picture (father committed suicide in an Enron-esque scandal, mother's a pill-popping feind and is experimenting with various hired help), Bunny enrolls in a public university in the South. She's experiments with a variety of recreatonal drugs and mas multiple sexual encounters before falling in love with the university's career counselor Helena Von Troy (played by Bea Arthur). Though Helena was probably a real looker in her day, there is an obvious age difference that only true love can look past. The affair takes a tragic turn when Bunny stumbles upon a book of conquests that Helena keeps in her box of Depends. The book is an extensive matrix of country names, heights, weights, races, sexes, oddities -- all with names and checkmarks by them. Bunny finds her name with "slutty rich white cheerleader" by it. Bunny, confronted with a blunt analysis of how others view her and the idea that she was just being used by Helena, flies into a rage. Bunny emerges from two days of drinking with a clear vision of her mission. In order to keep her sanity, she realizes that Helena's book has become a list of people she must kill. In Bunny's mind, everyone in the book is in competition for Helena's affection and must be eliminated so she can be the sole focus of Helana's love.

I don't need to finish the story to let you know that Britney doesn't win an Oscar.

a local radio show here in charlotte, spires & krantz, has a guy who used to work in the recording industry (spires). he signed a confidentiality agreement but spilled the beans one day anyways. Brittney's voice is computer altered...she sings into a mic and the computer make her sound good. he also said the same thing about paula abdul...amoung others. Aren't the purpose of awards to reward talent and hard work? If your talent is computer generated...why do you think you should get an award?

Debra Norville did a story on whatever news show she is on about this. Basically the premise is that anyone can have a hit song. They altered her voice. Printed a CD with a glamour shot of her on it and it was flying off the shelves in New York. Aren't many talented musicians left these days what with the sampling and all.
