This is kind of like saying dinner was ruined when the chef threw out the overcooked meat.

It really has nothing to do with him at all, but that doesn't make the last three years better.

Hurney has said a few things that I agree with since firing, notably his inability to find a 'leader' in the locker room, and also his talk of how parity requires leadership. 2003 we won close games, this year we lose them.

That was Jake's 'it'. JR calling out Peppers at the Minter retirement also comes to mind. They've been trying desperately to find that leader. Marty admittedly failed at this.

He also failed at finding talent in the draft, and leadership in a coaching staff.

The lack of talent, specifically depth, is probably the much bigger problem. I still place Cam pretty far down our list of worries.

Well, with Cam we're at least not financially crippled if he doesn't work out and we've certainly blown a first round pick before. Not THE number one though.

It really sucked that on our number one overall things worked out as they did, Luck staying in school, no one wanting to make a big trade to move up, etc. Black cat I guess. The day Luck said he was going back to school, very bad day for us.

Yeah, the leader thing is total bullshit and perfectly illustrates that Hurney had absolutely no clue what he was doing when it came to putting a team together. Eli Manning is no leader.
