Maybe not the best forum to ask, since all my opponents are here, but it's a free league and its not like I'm going to really ask around alot.

Anyway - I have Delhomme and Bulger. I'm leaning towards Delhomme b/c:

1 - We destroyed Bulger last year. It's a game I still have on my DVR, and it was ugly. Jake didn't do much better, though.

2 - Our defense looks ready, Morgan should be in for at least a series, and I don't know what the Rams have really done to improve their line since last year.

3 - Delhomme has looked pretty sharp in preseason, and everyone is talking like we haven't opened the Davidson playbook at all.

    4 - Tory Holt is not 100%.

All this said - we haven't scored points for shit.

Anyway. I'm befuddled and it's the first game.

I would guess just about any outsider would suggest Bulger.

I've been using this logic to make myself feel better but has that actually been noted by a legitimate source?

Bulger is going to put up some big numbers this year but it is closer than you might think for the opener. The panthers seem to have his number somehow. I would probably still go with Bulger though. I get the idea that he will exploit our street free agent safeties.

as a rule, Bulger's defense is worse, and he'll be coming back in games. Better weapons overall, though I'm not sold on Linehan's standalone offense.

I doubt we've seen that much of the offense, no. Not that we haven't run our staple stuff, but yeah, there's more to the offense than this and by definition an NFL offense is going to have about 2-3 extra plays for certain situations in a real game they think are going to be able to exploit a defense that will get used in a game or two but not every fourth play.
