just a combo route. Familiar to see Jake, esp in 2006, yelling and pointing with combo routes and mishaps.

Moose has always, in my mind, been sort of an enigma. He played lights out in 1999 ( contract year ) and better in 2000 ( 1st year of new contract ), but then slumped with the rotating qb's of Weinke, Peete, and Delhomme.

He didn't really recover until later in the year with Jake, and he really lit it up his second year with Jake.

But even in 2004 he was kinda streaky - picking it up in the last 8 games.

I think he'll slide right in and be a huge upgrade on the field and in the locker room. I cannot think of another free gent I'd rather have - ALL factors considered.

And even if he is - we need Dwayne Jarrett to not suck.

Anyway, that's my :twocents:. I was not high on Moose after that game - but I definitely think whatever went down between Moose and Delhomme in 2003 was forgotten.

2nd half of 2004 we changed up the offense. I think the gist of it was that they were trying to use Colbert deeper and Moose shorter, and then changed it up and that started working. The entire team slumped in 2004 first half.

I was ready to cut Steve Smith after that Texans game where he kicked that guy and the penalty cost us the game. That was a long time ago though. Jake developed chemistry with Moose and they were a good combination for the second half of 2003 and then in 2004.
