Sorry, Fox is being diplomatic with his tempermental veteran. Moose is a failure, there is no doubt on this subject. He drops balls and appears to have done nothing in two seasons to work on this bad habit. He slowed on the play to the endzone, that is visually evident. Spin Doctors can say what they will, but the bigger man here was Jake.

BTW, was the pass right into Moose's bread basket by Delhomme a bad ball as well?

You can say ToMAYto and I will say ToMAHto all day long about this. Fact is fact, Moose is done. Just wrap him up and pray somebody is stupid enough to take him off our hands...

The only spin doctor here was the media. The three entities in this all basically agree, and none of them put in the words to bias. To feed irrationality.

How was Jake the bigger man? He said he shouldn't have made the throw. John Fox said he shouldn't have made that throw. Muhsin Muhammad said he shouldn't have made that throw. Nobody was shirking and nobody was pointing. He floated a ball.

It looked like a stop and go, to me, on the wheel route. But the ball was already in the air cause of the pressure, and they were playing deep.

Now, if it wasn't a stop and go, I'd rather have Moose finish the route rather than improvise to the coverage. On a play like that, with a young QB, you got to finish the route. If he doesn't see the coverage, your fucked.

A bad ball by Jake, but finish (or don't improvise) on your route.

My point was that Moose is NOT Jake's favorite target, and this incident didn't help.

For a 5'9" receiver, who might be harder to find that moose - he sure is getting his hands on the ball alot more.

Like I said before, Moose didn't "quit" on the route. He read the coverage nd saw that setting up underneath was the smart thing to do. He turned looking for the ball and it was already in the air.
Delhomme made a different read and sent it up for Moose to go get.
It isn't any more complex than that.
Chemistry, chemistry, chemistry...the passing game has yet to really develop that. New QB, you'll have that. But it better start changing soon.

and that again is part of the problem. We shouldn't have chemistry problems with a QB in week 9, and yet it is a problem. Not between Moose and Delhomme, because facts aren't dislikes.
Between pretty much everybody and Delhomme. I can't blame JD, nor the receivers, because it seems like it's as simple as not practicing it enough and not running it enough in games. That's where chemistry comes from, and that's where confidence comes from. Just like with the run.

I know that Ima gonna get bashed for this, but...
I'm not so worried and distraught over Delhomme. I'm treating this year with him as this is his rookie season. Yes, I know that he has started games in the past (1 or 2 and not with us), but he has never started game after game and this is new to him. Next year, if he plays poorly, then yeah, trash him, but give him a little slack this year.

Now, Moose, that's another thread... :teeth:

who's trashing Delhomme? He made a bad throw. C'mon Henning90 :D One comment about a player making a poor throw or decision doesn't make it trashing. it's no different than what John Fox or Jake Delhomme said about it either - Muhsin said the same thing but since it came from Muhsin it's just a way of escaping responsibility, of course.

But no, a player doesn't get year after year of waiting to be good when he's starting. He gets evaluated week to week like everybody else. If we need a quarterback after the year, I hope we get one.

Some people have been trashing him, but not like we've all been trashing Moose (there goes my blood pressure again!:D ). Really, what my post was about was the "miscommunications", overthrows, bad decisions that JD has made so far this year. I think that with a full starting season under his belt, he'll improve. He may never be a Brett Favre, but it would be nice if he did turn into one!

So, Mags, should I change my id to DHenning from Sackem90?:D :D
