Not sure why, but some folks were reporting getting antivirus warnings from the thread. I wouldn't think it would be the google ad because those aren't thread specific, they rotate on keywords.

Any chance it was from the site that was linked?

It infected my computer Larry. Got the Cryptic virus and then it installed some anti spyware program that totally took over my computer and made everything an illegal due to a bogus threat warning.

Took me about 2 hours to clean it off, and cryptic simply respawned from a temp restore directory.

Total bitch. I hope it didn't happen to anyone else. That was brutal.

I had turned off pop-up blocker for an online job application and one day I got a virus warning on tbr... Thought it was an ad but I couldnt close the window. I shut the computer down, booted back up and turn pop-up blocker back on. Couldn't tell you the thread, but it was before the draft and I did go back and post in it no problem...fwiw

It got me too. Not 100% sure it was Clausen thread, but I was surfing TBR and BAM! It was some bogus antivirus program that kept giving me popups saying I was infected and to download their program to remove it.

Fortunatley, Malaware Anti-Virus killed it pretty quickly.
