I guess my thought on the DL goes like this. The two rookie tackles from last year should be better playing in their second year with a full offseason to learn the scheme. Edwards should be back too and probably play better than either of the young guys did last year. At DE Hardy has some value and Alexander at least brings some potential. I am not saying the DL will be great or even good just that I am not as concerned about it as I am the secondary.

6 words longer than me. It doesn't make sense to read a post by someone who has to guess what their own thoughts are.

A year of experience doesn't automatically make someone better. Fua & McClain are pretty worthless, and who knows how Edwards will be at his age coming off of a major injury.

Yea but wasn't Hardy and Alexander both projected to be high picks but fell off because of various issues? Alexander with the heart thing and then it seems like I read that Hardy was rated high going into his last year in college.

Now granted, good in college doesn't mean good in the NFL but the DL potentially could be ok.

No. Neither player was ever expected to be a high draft pick.

Nothing is guaranteed and maybe I am being a homer but I am hoping for the best. Maybe it is just because in June we have not lost any games.

    Fair enough.

I'm not saying you shouldn't hope, and I do think Edwards will be an improvement over what was there last season. But realistically, that DL group is still going to be well below average.
