I'll take what we have. That's irrelevant to what I've said above, but sure.

I spoke with Gantt today about that piece...there was some "attitude" with Moose with certain members of the media, however, Gantt is right on point. The Panthers re-sign Moose, and you don;'t have Lucas shutting down WR's and Wahle punching holes in D-lines...although the YPC has been bad this season. I'll take this team as is now....but I do miss Moose and his contributions.

I don't think anyone is arguing that what happened hasn't worked out great for everyone involved. My thoughts are that our offense would be a little better with Moose still here - both the passing and running game. But we didn't keep him, Wahle & Lucas are contributing a lot and it's all good. It's just that some of us believe Moose was a solid contributor to the team.

Moose was a great Panther, take nothing away from him. There wasnt the money to spend on Moose, Wahle and Lucas....so in a case of pick your poison, Moose getting loose allowed for Lucas and Wahle. did moose contribute? Above and beyond, BUT would he have been with the Cats another 5-7 years? A tough question to ask. I wouldn't m,ind seeing Moose go for 100 yards on Sunday in a Panther win.

solarte, the issue with the article wasn't what you're mentioning, its darin's fucking attitude and his potshots at moose. that shit was lame. first time i've seen him stoop to that level. did moose fuck his wife or something, or bogart all his weed?

    Moose =
This here's a story about Billy Joe and Bobbie Sue
Two young lovers with nothin' better to do
Than sit around the house, get high, and watch the tube
And here is what happened when they decided to cut loose

They headed down to, ooh, old El Paso
That's where they ran into a great big hassle
Billy Joe shot a man while robbing his castle
Bobbie Sue took the money and run

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

Billy Mack is a detective down in Texas
You know he knows just exactly what the facts is
He ain't gonna let those two escape justice
He makes his livin' off of the people's taxes

Bobbie Sue, whoa, whoa, she slipped away
Billy Joe caught up to her the very next day
    They got the money, hey
    You know they got away
They headed down south and they're still running today
Singin' go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

"At some point this week, the Carolina Panthers should reach out and thank Chicago Bears wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad.

Thank him for his years of meritorious service.

Thank him for his role in grooming Steve Smith into one of the NFL's best receivers.

Thank him mostly for chasing every last dollar out the door, thus preventing them from making a dreadful and expensive mistake last offseason.

Had he not so vigorously sought out more money and -- perhaps more importantly -- more glory, the Panthers might not be the team they are today."

Show me where any of this is untrue. It may not be the popular thing to say, because Moose is revered in this town for all the positive things he did in town, both on and off the field. that being said, Gantt is spot on. Moose wanted more money than the Panthers felt he was worth, and with that decision, they were able to land 2 big pieces to this year's team.

I don't think anyone is questioning that part of the article. Its these sentences:

Had he stayed, they'd have spent more money on counseling than the salary cap, massaging his considerable ego and making sure he still felt important even though he'd be getting the Keary Colbert portion of the offense.

That brings you back to the question of why they offered so much, and frankly, we're still trying to figure out the answer to that one.

For all his success, there was always an insecurity about Muhammad. He needed to feel needed, and in his world that was measured in the currency of passes and dollars thrown his way.

I thought it was a pretty crappy article.
