You'll hjave to wait in line behind me as I, too, will be hacking my guts out. His "Sports Century" thing on ESPN Classic basically calls him a spoiled brat who had his parents running (and therefore ruining) his life. His reefusal to play in Quebec made him a marked man, and in my opinion, was the reason other players went head hunting (and found him).

hmmmm... don't you need to be playing for 100 years for it to be a century?

"I don't wanna play for Bobby Clarke, he's mean to me. Mommy, tell him I'm taking my stick and going home."

After so many concussions, he probably thinks he is 109 years old...

It amazes me the way people take Lindros for granted. If you were to take one human to be the model of the perfect player, it's Lindros. What area of his game lacks? He has concussions and everyone acts like it's his fault. Why is Lindros such a villian for not wanting to play in Quebec? He isnt the first athelete to say he didnt want to play in a certain city. Elway is treated like a god, everyone will forget about Manning not going to SD, but somehow Lindros is this uber-asshole for not wanting to go to Quebec. Dont listen to the anti-Lindros propaganda; enjoy him before it is too late.

    Ok... let's see.
How many Cups did Philly win with him wearing the "C"?

    00-01 didn't play

How many full seasons did he play?

He was touted to be The Power Forward. Didn't do that; in fact, while he was playing with the Rangers, Fleury was in the corners digging more than Lindros, and Fleury is small by comparison.

How many times did the Rangers make the playoffs with him on the team?

You're right. Yashin is another and he's a waste too.

    It already is.

The theme for this entire thread is that a lack of team accomplishments does not equate to personal failure. Besides, he did bring the Flyers to the finals

Yes, he has had injury problems that were compounded by the neglect of the Flyers, but can that be held against him? I never hear people giving Mike Bossy or Bo jackson shit because their careers were shortened by injuries. Is Christopher Reeve a shitty actor because he fell off a horse?
The time that Lindros was with Philly, he was incredible and turned that team back into a powerhouse. Remember the Legion of Doom? Remember the scoring title? It was his leadership that set that franchise in motion, Bobby Clarke should be kissing his ass rather than stabbing him in the back

And (correct me if I'm wrong Boo), but they were swept in 4. If you wear the "C", you are a HUGE part of the team. You should know this since your tag line equates to a guaranteed game 6. AND DELIVERED. That is a captain... not just G/A/+ -, but all the intangibles that the leader brings to a team. Not playing because of differences w/ management is not a leader.

Did you have to ruin a good thread by bringing up HIS name??

    That's what you meant right?

Yep, Scotty pulled one out of his hat for that series. the talk going in was the wings couldn't phsycally handle Lindros and co....bowman opted to use positional defenseman Lidstrom and Larry Murphy on the Doom line which worked perfectly. Of course the McCarty goal was the highlight people remember fromt the series.

If you are any self-respecting Ranger fan, then you wouldn't be jocking Lindros. He, in spite of him wearing the sweater (for now), has always been an anti-Ranger guy. His days in Philly (and the numbers he put up against NYR) should outweigh any good he does for you. As for taking him for granted, I appreciated him when he played for Team Canada as an 18 year old. I agree also that he gets a bad rap, but at the same time, he would not have gotten such a raw deal if it were him calling the shots....with his mother and father doing all the yapping, it made him look likme a coddled cry baby.

88's best days are behind him....so far behind that he cant remember them.

Yea, but the goal I remember was the Kozlov goal against St. Louis. Yzerman takes a shot, Kozlov jumps and while in mid-air, reaches back with his stick and deflects it down. Hand-eye coordination is just unbelievable.
