He's okay. He's a reporter, not Faulkner. Reed just needs a copy editor. The typos kill me.

good writers don't really need editors. Editing should be a matter of fitting to need, not making a writer sound able.

Gantt was accessible and I liked that. But there's this groundswell of support as if he were somehow thrown out because he made so many waves, as if he were some sort of freedom fighter or martyr. I mean, shit man.

Well, good reporters don't have to be good writers. But all good reporters need good editors. Today's fast-paced information highway practically demands a team approach. Reed's reporting strikes me as having to go it pretty much on his own.

And The Gantt could grow to be a cult hero. That's right.

    Just like Neo.

Reed probably does. He also seems to have most things slower than others, almost as if he has more of a concern with his newspaper deadlines than the idea that it's part of new media.

I do think reporters need to be good writers. But even if not, be a good reporter. Tell me information. I'll read a dry set of bullet points filled with info. I'll read a table.

This Joseph Person guy has been doing a solid job so far. Granted there aint shit going on because of the lock out. But he's dug up interesting info, like Smitty's house still on the market and some other stuff that escapes me for the moment.
