I saw the press conference on ESPN, and I liked it. I have no idea how Phillips will do, but he and Jerry can give a press conference. I don't know if JJ had a cold, or if he was feeling emotional. Being a native Texan myself, I enjoyed the bit where JJ was talking about him being a Texan and understanding the football culture.

BTW, besides being a great coach for some years for the Oilers, I think Bum Phillips' lasting legacy is destroying Earl Campbell's body for him. After Houston wasnt any good any more, he just handed the ball to Earl almost every play. Too much, anyway. No attempt to conserve him at all.

Wade Phillips will have no trouble filling Parcel's pants. He can even pull them up to his chest over his big guy just like Parcells.

Phillips did okay in Buffalo. Made a freggin mess of the QB situation, but they were a playoff team two out of three years. Lost to Tennessee on a fluke play, lost to Miami on a sack-fumble near the goal line, going in for the tying score.

Besides, they want to stick with the 3-4.
