Without taking the shoulder surgery into account: Left achilles, torn. Right knee, microfracture.

I don't know why everyone is in such a rush to cut him. I don't see ruptured emotional leader on that list

My expectation is that he'll play so poorly that we'll be forced to bench him. He was bad at will linebacker when we tried him there in 2010, before his injury woes. Really, even the idea of moving TD to the other side after he was so good last year is pretty fucking mindboggling, in and of itself. I hope that's just offseason speculation.

It's fun when fans pretend they know when a player is finished.

Hey, he may be. But he was far from "horrible", and maybe his best days are far behind him, and maybe he'll stink. I'm not defending him necessarily, I just always marvel at the cut throat nature of the fans who crucify players the minute they're out of mind.

Thomas Davis came back and played very well, and I think we're all pretty happy he's here.

I damn sure hope Beason can do the same. I'm worried about him playing out of position like everyone else, and I hate his contract and the fact that he's been busted up since he got it.

I'm just a little perplexed when fans mock players' emotional leadership or a presence they bring to the locker room that can't be defined by just stats alone - that thing some GMs salivate over, the intangibles. To make fun of that, and to pretend it doesn't matter, is profoundly stupid.

This isn't about Beason, per say, it's just about all this bullshit dating back to when Kris Jenkins said the team needed to show more passion, and some here agreed, and then for a million years after the PASHUN joke still exists...

Yeah, how dumb of me to bring up Beason's leadership on the team. Meanwhile, some of you guys were cumming in your pants to some ridiculous video posted a year ago while he was working out and rehabbing from his initial injury. Some of you pussies were about to drive down to get his water bottle for him, you were so jacked, lol.

Anyway...we've been bad to terrible for a long time. I don't get it, this readiness to write off our own guys who performed at pro bowl levels, and mock what they brought to the table.

Oh well, that's just me, and I don't matter. Thing is, no one here does either. (shrug)

Achilles, really not good. Micro fracture, better probably than back when Foster had it, still not good.

TD, one of my favorite Panthers in a long time, beat serious odds just to play through one year and I would bet on him before I'd bet on Beason but really wouldn't bet good money on either.

Do you not remember him playing like ass in a can last year? There's already enough proof that he's not his old self anymore, at best. And the odds of him being a good player again, after another injury, at a new position? Doesn't look great. Maybe he's not awful, but I don't think we should expect him to be close to what he used to be.

My guess is that it will be relatively early in the preseason before we realize that Blackburn should be starting ahead of Beason.

ACL repair seems to have become much better, even outside of freaks like AP we're seeing it just isn't the same debilitating injury it once was. Meanwhile Most Achilles injuries are major setbacks if not career enders

Plus Davis still looked like a good player in between his injuries.

I guess the team thinks so too, since they just signed a WR who has torn the same one twice.

You could be right about how this shakes out. I don't remember him playing like ass - I remember him being active and fast, but I also remember it seeming like he was neutered to a degree playing out of the middle.

    I guess we'll see.

The initlal thoughts weren't in defense to Beason, because if we cut him, I wouldn't be heart broken. It was just about what I simply perceived to be a bloodlust in getting rid of him, and then making fun of his "emotional leadership". Really, that's mostly what chaffed me. It's an old joke around here that it's a silly thing, this passion and emotional presence, and ultimately to insinuate that it doesn't matter is wrong.

Either way, we'll see how it works with Beason. I'm not doing jumping jacks about what I think his prospects are going to be, but I'm just not ready to kick him in his teeth on his way out the door, either.
