Cuts

Ugh - Jordan Carstens is becoming the next Kris Mangum. Great - I think it's wonderful that he's not totally horrid despite the fact that he should be. I still don't find much to be happy about there.

Ellison, I thought, had shown enough. People raved about him. Oops. Hey, we're almost two full picks into a bust year.

Guess Goings goes back to backup FB. Sorry, Cramer. I thought you were good enough.

Tufts? What's with that guy? Glad Seward made it, he's a tremendous asset for the future.

Glad Kadela made it. Knew Baker was the better guy.

Glad for Haye, too. But you'd figure this team is better with Haye/Ellison than Carstens/Haye.

 

Hampton didn't impress this year, and he's not really a safety. Someone pointed out to me last year that despite the switch back and forth, he always made his plays at CB. Bashir wasn't that good a safety, but he's a veteran safety, and that's a need with what we have. Maybe he'll shut up and play this time, rather than whine.

That they should've kept a 5th CB? Maybe. They spent a 1, a 3, a 4, and $30 mil on someone else's 2nd on the 4 they have. They usually do keep a 5th, but not this year.

Jackson not eligible, he was active in 10 games last year. Tufts, Ellison and Cramer could all get claimed elseware but I agree with all. I'd like to keep them.

 

I think it indicates our Front Office did a poor job on draft day.

 

I can't believe Ellison got cut. I didn't watch him in pre-season just because I assumed from how good he looked in training camp that he wasn't even on the bubble. Given that I thought Haye looked borderline poor, I'm really surprised he made it over Attiyah. Wow.


And yes, it sure seems like we flubbed the dub in the draft. Hopefully Mathis works out and Davis finds a home, but I've been really surprised at how poor Shelton has looked, and very disappointed that Ellison isn't a potential long-term replacement for Buckner. *sigh* At least LeFors has come on.

 

Somebody save me the hassle of looking up what I'm pretty sure I aleady know, if somebody claims one of our cuts they have to sign them to their regular roster?

 

Games on now (NFL Network) I'm going to watch Ellison bnecause I didn't focus on him during the last few day's thinking he was a natural

didn't look it up, but I think the following applies:
everyone still eligible for the practice squad can be signed to another team's pratice squad. The vets have to go on the 53 man roster.
