we really don't know why he was cut. You could say it was cap, injury, age, attitude (he spoke out recently about the bullshit on the team), you can say it's anything and have a shot at making it stick. You could even make up something and if it sounds plausible, you could say he was cut for it.

Saying "I know it was __________" is something for the team to say, moreso than us. I honestly don't know why and can't assign positives or negatives to that reason.

Exactly. Yes, his knees are a legitimate concern, but I've already pointed out that Crumpler actually finished the season stronger than Jeff King did with his young healthy knees. Crumpler had twice as many catches in the last 4 games as King did, had about 120 more yards, and he scored 3 TD's to King's 0...and none of that had anything to do with a scrambling Michael Vick either.

Judging by the strong interest by the rest of the NFC South, and probably more teams that we don't know about yet, I'd say that NFL personel people know the guy is a playmaker even if some Panthers fans don't.

yes, not presuming I know the reason the Falcons cut Crumpler means I do drugs. FWIW, I mainstream heroin through a suppository.

I don't know if I agree with Stallworth, specifically because he's not the reliable slot guy I'm after, but overall, yes. We have to actually have someone available to upgrade us. The idea that we can upgrade, but elect not to approach half of the players that can upgrade us, and don't want the rest unless they'll come begging to play for the minimum, I dunno. I don't think that's any better than throwing a ton of money at the first guy that'll come aboard, or sitting on 21-of-22 type theory.

I'm not presuming to know anything, nor am I inferring that I presume someone else on here knows anything.

Additionally, it's safe to presume nobody here knows exactly how much they saved on this year's cap by cutting him, which is what I asked.

You and chip: I'm railing on bat, not you. We don't know it was a knee, or anything else specifically.

    cap numbers are searchable.

I think King would have put up good numbers if Jake had been healthy this year. He has pretty good hands. Crumpler would be a nice addition but I can take it or leave it. There is some risk with giving a large contract to a player his age with some injury history.
