Their other safety, Hamlin, isn't much better and top backup Pat Watkins was injured sunday. that leaves special teamer keith davis as their best option. This could be good for us.

Its only for one game, forgot to put that in the first post.

AP story on the wire says he's out--nothing about an appeal--which struck me as odd. 4 offense in 2 season on this...

    from the NFL Media Website:

    "
Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys has been suspended without pay for one game after committing his third illegal “horse collar” tackle of the season, the NFL announced today.

NFL Director of Football Operations Gene Washington issued the suspension, which will sideline Williams for the Cowboys’ game at the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night (December 22) on NFL Network.

Grabbing the inside collar of the back of the shoulder pads or jersey, or the inside collar of the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, and immediately pulling down the runner is a 15-yard personal foul penalty. Williams was penalized for making such a tackle against Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in Sunday’s game in Dallas.

It was the fourth violation of this rule by Williams in the past two seasons. Williams was fined $12,500 for an illegal “horse collar” tackle against the Chicago Bears on September 23 and $15,000 for the same violation against the Buffalo Bills on October 8. He received a $10,000 fine for a “horse collar” tackle against the New York Giants on October 23, 2006.

The “horse collar” rule was adopted prior to the 2005 season to protect player safety in open field tackling. It does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket."

Its kinda funny IMO. I mean, the rule basically came about because of him. So he of all people should know not to do it. Yet he continues to ignore the rule time and time again. Ive seen him get away with a few more that weren't called too.

it helps, in that we might be able to keep the TE in space to get Moore some more easy looks and they won't have as much talent or size if they try to load the box.

I also don't think an exceptional amount of the Dallas corners, so a safety being out helps.
