>>You know how to get right down to it...
It's what you're getting with him, so I'm going to say it. You're not getting Manning, Manning has more arm. You're not getting Young, Young was more accurate and a better playmaker. You're getting a second tier quarterback, at best a Rich Gannon. At most likely situation, a Steve Beuerlein if you apply Beuerlein over a full career at one or two locations.
>>nah Harrington has a few more qualities than ye ole Bline - qualities like pocket mobility and on field leadership -
You were the only one that I remember questioning Beuerlein's on-field leadership. You were also the one who said Collins was this team's greatest leader at QB - yeah, the one who quit on us and the same guy whose line didn't respect him.
>>Harrrington, IMO, will be a better NFL QB than Wienke, thats the only reason I mentioned his name.
Yes, possibly. Does that mean it's worth the #2 pick to upgrade? We could bring QB from a 6.5 to an 8.5, or we could bring corner/end up from 3.5 to 9. Which makes more sense, considering the experience of our quarterback? And why do I bother with common sense with you?
>> a ton from guys that don't think he will be a 1st round kinda guy -
Find me one that has said, EVER, that Peppers isn't a first round value. Don't make things up, you got burned HARD for that many a time and you should know by now not to do so.
>>So no, maybe in your eyes and some bandwagon reporter type,
Why is that bandwagon reporter? Shit. Most everyone has said it's Peppers or Jammer. That's not bandwagon reporting, that's reporting. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it the "popular" way to go, it makes it the likely one. There's a difference. Just like with the Beuerlein thing above, you have made your opinion in your mind as the correct one when the majority of the league seems to have something completely different.
>>which by the way, I've never considered you bandwagon -
Even though you're tiptoeing around saying so.
>>but in this case anybody picking Peppers in the top 5 is basically bandwagon
Uhh, no. Really...do you bother listening to what you say? most everyone's calling Julius the best player in this draft, if not the first then the second or third at worst. So does that mean everyone in the league is bandwagon? Or simply everyone that disagrees with you, which defaults to almost the exact same solution?
>>If he makes it fine, if he fails, it will not be the first time the bangwagon was wrong...
There's no bandwagon. Cease talking about the fucking bandwagon, there isn't one. A few scouts don't think terribly highly of Peppers' downside, but even those guys have him top five value. A consensus isn't a bandwagon, it's a majority.
That doesn't make it right, but it does make it fairly well accepted. It's a lot more accepted than Willie the Panthers garbageman saying that Weinke would have fallen to the 8th when everyone who gets paid to talk about the draft says he was a good value in the 4th and that others should have taken a chance on him before then.
>>that is written.
Show me.
