Holy Fuck! Waaaay to much money for a hard hitting, but undisciplined and mediocre cover guy at SS....

McCree, Chargers agree to $16 million, five-year deal
    Associated Press
SAN DIEGO - Free agent safety Marlon McCree agreed to a five-year, $16 million deal with San Diego on Saturday night, an upgrade for the Chargers' light-hitting secondary.

McCree, who had been with the Carolina Panthers, will make $6 million in bonuses and guaranteed money in the first two years of the deal.

If you want to make the big bucks, spend a little time with the Panthers.

I liked him alot, but I'm just so pleased with what's happening that I don't mind the trade-offs.

The team seems to value Branch's PD over Marlon's hitting anyway.

I wanted to keep him but I would not have given him that deal. Congrats to McCree, I would have cashed in too.

Yeah, I loved his hitting and aggressiveness, but he made alot of mistakes in coverage as well. Congrats, to MM, he should bring some toughness to San Diego.

good for him that he got paid. but IMO many of those hard hits ended up being missed tackles

    :agreed:
And then you get into the season and realize that the player isn't all that good. The good play resulted from a good supporting cast. :satana:

    Gantt said what I said:

And in most of their cases, they're better here than they were elsewhere, thanks to the parts around them. :ylsuper:

Good selling point for us when dealing with the one year types.
