    You can change the default file locations for all of the MS Office products too.

    Actually it still stores part of its files on the root directory as well. Yes the bulk stores on the designated drive, but if you check the C drive there will be files there as well.

    you're talking about the install, right? i noticed that office will put files in the program files directory (some legacy program under "office11" or something) no matter where i install it. very annoying.

    i think vp's talking about storing the documents/data created with these programs. it's really handy to have common shortcuts in a sidebar, but when they don't take you to where your data is, it's a bit pointless. but maybe there's a way to add your own short-cuts. what i'd prefer is for the system to ask where you want your user data during the user creation stage...
