compost piles

    anyone ever make one? i want to start one and was looking for ideas.

    well i have the martha stewart handbook and tells you how to do it. but was looking for pointers. like should i make my own bin or buy one?

    That's the easy kind to make. Get some heavy duty galvanized fencing. Make a loop out of it. Put your stuff into it. Once a week, lift the fencing off the pile, turn it, wet it, and put it back in. Make sure you stir it this way and keep it moist.

    If you build a wooden one or buy a plastic one, turning the material is a little more difficult. You can even do a couple or 3 this way and keep them all going with little effort.

    You're welcome. It's really easy to do. The hard part is to remind myself that I don't have to throw everything in the trash.

    well that's good. i tend to leave it in the fridge so it does not stink up my garage and then forget to take it out when i roll out the trash can.
