I would sit him for at least a game or two and give Gardner a chance.

Colbert was underwhelming. Seems like he had a chance at 3 balls, offhand, that shoulda been in there.

Maybe he was a little gun shy about having his ribs exposed on the other 4 passes that went his way. Jake had a shitty day.

Yep, to his defense, Jake wasn't on target with many of them, but I figure if Grandpa Ricky can catch a few then Colbert should be able to as well.

that's not unreasonable, but I remember one whiff at a ball coming before all that.

While I won't say no one will step up and take Moose's spot, we don't have anyone other then Smitty who seems perfectly willing to sacrifice himself completely for the catch - and on that note I'd like to see Steve not need to do that!

He should have caught more of those high balls than he did. I'm using Steve Smith as the standard, and Colbert didn't measure up today.

Let's not forget that Moose hadn't been that good for us before Smitty went down, so it's not exactly a fair comparison.

Well it's really hard to say that as well. He wasn't the number 1 option year before last when Smitty was healthy. Numbers were down but not as many chances, last year they were up because of the chances.

I don't think Smitty will have as big of a year as Moose did last year ever unless we get another legit/proven WR imo.

Now does this make one better than the other, don't really know. They are 2 different types of receivers and it sure is nice to have a Moose to lob the ball 2 vs. a small one when you get into the red zone.

Smitty can out run them, Moose can just kick their ass and get the ball.
