3 winning seasons out of nine is not good coaching.

Yep, folks can play the "he's stubborn because he didn't get an experienced QB card" this year but thats it.

    No.

    It's really not.

When he does have a winning season, he seems to be a fucking terror in the playoffs...well...ok, so two seasons he was. But yeah, he's gotta get there first, and I don't know why people are still so fucking enamored with him.

3 out of nine? Dude...that's 33%? That fucking STINKS.

    Fisher is surprisingly poor also.

Gruden, Cowher, Reid, shanahan have awesome records.

From a winning record percentage, Gruden and COwher have a nice track record.

DUngy - 11/13 winning seasons. Wow.

Schottenheimer - 15/21. Schotty had consecutive winning seasons from 1986-1997 with several different teams and quarterbacks.

    This is truly remarkable.

I'd have to say his son really fits the bill as far as grooming a young coach with pedigree to keep for the long term, ala the steelers model.

OF course, Marty would turn shit around immediately.

Hilarious that Dan Snyder canned him.

Head Coach Peyton Manning has a very strong track record in Indy, FWIW.

    That's pretty incredible.

Schott comes from a fucking sweet pedigree, also. Marty had issues with the playoffs, and that sucks. But he made TOUGH teams. And turned them around fast.

YEah, Snyder canned him because Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith were moaning, and some old vets were whining that he made them work hard. That's funny, and during that 8-8 season, they were looking really tough.

But yeah. Interesting, that he had a hand in those three.

It'd be worth some research about him...I can be cool with him being our next HC. He comes from a team that wills to win, also. There is something to be said about that.

I'd have to believe between his offensive focus, his dad living near Charlotte, and his ability to be hired at a fairly low cost, he's the leader in the clubhouse.

Whether you can pin some or most of the success of those QB's on Schott is debatable, but there's no doubt that he's worked with them, and that can't hurt.

I hate to keep talking up Bill Callahan, but I do think if we plan to retain this offensive line, and Clausen, and the current WR group, BC would be a very good fit as the coordinator. It would be a promotion, in essence, and would give him another chance to showcase himself for potential HC gigs, if he wants it.

But let me be clear--Callahan is not HC material. A head coach has no place in the play-calling arena. Their focus is to administrate the entire package, and oversee the development and performance of not only their assistant coaches, but their players. Or, at least, that's how it's been explained to me. Lil' Schott appears to have a bit of piss and vinegar in his blood. He's young, with a young QB and young team. Just makes some sense.

If not, hell, heave it deep and get Harbaugh.
