I see that clock go late once every two games if not more often. Funny how it's only a problem now. It didn't even cost them the game, nor did I think it was that late.

    I've seen worse.

I have to disagree. That was as late as I've ever noticed. Like 2+ seconds it seemed to me.

it was about a second. Titans still had a chance to stop them and didn't.

No they aren't expected to win. They play the game with a set of rules in order to determine the winner. It's not brain surgery, try to keep up.

Vegas sets lines to make money, not to predict a winner

That sounds about right to me. I have a hard time believing it was 2 seconds, it just didn't seem that late. No doubt it's a fuck up, I should have been more clear in my OP. However, I tend to watch that clock all the time (ocd) and I see 'late snaps' after zero pretty often. By that accord they are called often too.

I'm just saying that this does happen in games occasionally, and usually it's igsignificant to the play, much less the game. But a rule is a rule, and finding out there is a 'grace period' built into the rule is just asking for trouble.

Apparently the ref has to notice the clock at 0 and then look to see if the ball is snapped. A shot clock doesn't work that way in basketball, when the clock hits zero that ball should be snapped. Not writing the rule in that manner was just leaving the door open for a situation like this. Hopefully it's changed, they should put a red outline around the playclock to emphasize it's hitting zero. That would help the upjudge see and anticipate it while looking at the snap.
