According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, the Browns draft board was arranged alphabetically.

Pompei writes this is "very unorthodox and can make it difficult to make decisions on the fly. Front office men around the league were buzzing about the unusual board last week. Also noteworthy is that the Browns did not allow the majority of their scouts in the draft room. But they are not the only team that locks out scouts." Most teams have a horizontal board by position and a vertical board by grade.

Mike Lombardi is an idiot. I'm guessing Haslem hired him because he listens to Bill Simmons' podcast.

Doesn't Chud have personnel control up there? Either way, it's spectacularly retarded.

Chud has final say, but I assume Lombardi is like a draft coordinator- Chud isn't over his shoulder about how shit needs to be done.

I wouldn't even let him call the plays, but then he won't be doing a lot of that either.

It sounds very Michael Lombardi to just put the shit in alphabetical order, so you're probably right.

They drafted like a team that was throwing darts at the draftboard while blindfolded and hysterically drunk.

Maybe Chud is a puppet for Norv?

I put our draft board in alphabetical because I used to work for Bill Walsh

Lots of chiefs up there apparently.

For real, I would not want Chud making calls on defensive players in any way. Offensive skill player evaluation, sure, all day long. Deciding whether the pick is offense or defense, not yet.

It's a lot for a rookie head coach. Perhaps less so since he's delegated playcalling to Norv, but I'd still prefer a chain of command with GM, then HC and so on. Sounds like typical Cleveland dysfunction so far.

Plus Haslam has the FBI's dick up his ass right now. That can't make for the best work environment.
