    It sounds like speculation. The Panthers won't save anything by cutting him now, they can gain cap back if they cut him in 2020. And even if he's not starting, he's still going to be better than whoever else we would bring in as a backup.

    I think Person gets his ideas from the Huddle.

    Theoretically you could also trade him and a draft pick to a team with an ocean of cap space.

    Oh, I don't believe this at all. Clark has sucked, but he's been Walter Jones compared to Kalil. Whatever we decide to do, I don't want to see Matt Kalil on the roster next year. It's an extremely rare case where I'd be willing to eat such a big cap number.
