wins are important, but again, Ken Dorsey. Height isn't everything, sure. Ask Drew Brees. But that doesn't make everyone Brees' height a Mini-Manning. No one runs the O that he'd need to be successful, and Pat White can tell you about hanging onto being a wildcat QB.

He doesn't need to be on the field as a receiver until he's got some things down better. At that point he should turn into a solid, then maybe brilliant, slot guy, and maybe he can take over some return duties along the way. He could be fantastic one day, and I hope he is. For right now, a few Wildcat snaps and being active is what he can offer about 20% of the time.

App State fan ragging UNCC is pretty funny. Is App State some great institute of higher learning because they have a football team that is between high school and community college?

I can see AppSt fans being prideful but I think these issues run much deeper.

Completely logical argument, I especially like how beating up the defense of the team Flacco happened to play for makes AE a better QB.

Am I the only one that thinks Armanti at QB is Josh Johnson: The Sequel?

It's not that....the program at App State is excellent...I mean you can't argue with their success. The Michigan win was just an exclamation point to all the other stuff that program has accomplished and what edwards has done within the program. But you have to take it in perspective. Edwards is an incredible athlete, but there are too many factors against him than for him relating to success as an NFL QB.
Have others overcome some of those factors? Sure, but they are the exceptions rather than the rule.

I'm not hating on App State or Armanti Edwards....just being realistic.

I was just saying don't forget where Flacco came from. You're right, he's not very big, so what. That still doesn't change the fact how good of a quarterback he was, and still could be. But I get that he won't be. But still get him on the field some. Magnus, I agree with your assessment. I think he can help the Panthers quite a bit down the road in the slot. I really do.

Maybe the thing that made Edwards so good as a college qb is the same thing that is keeping him from being a pro wideout and returner.

Fear. When you`re a qb its seldom you get hit, even on scramble plays, like you do when you`re a pro returner. Those returner guys get destroyed, a lot.

It's hard to blame the coaches this year, but I don't think we've ever maximized our offensive personnel under any Fox OC. It's a very Jurassic approach. We could show more variety if we wanted to. You could line up on 1st down in your regular personnel, and then move to a shotgun look to set up a swing pass, or a bubble screen. That's a way to create mismatches. I'm not saying that should be a staple of our offense, but it's the kind of idea that might not make a bad wrinkle.

I think our next head coach and OC need to be more creative. That doesn't mean we have to deviate from being a run based, play action offense, but you can maintain that identity while being a little less predictable.

It's not the way I'd run an O by any means. But I see what they're trying to do. It does still make some sense. I always felt we didn't run out of 3, 4 WR enough at all, and I think we run out of it the least of any team, which is kinda retarded.

I saw more variety and interesting stuff in 07 and 10 than I ever did in the better, more productive years. I think they get what they want when it works. But I don't think the creativity isn't there, and when we go to it, it doesn't work out any better.

But yeah, I've always been more of a WCO guy. You can run well from WCO and the ZBS fits.
