I think Moore enters camp as the starter, no doubt. I think after week 1 ts open to evaluation on a week to week basis, no matter what the record is.

Matt is an undrafted QB, Jimmy is first round talent, and an arguement could be made Jimmy has a better handle on this offense than Matt having played in it longer... figuratively speaking... If Fox feels Jimmy gives the team the best chance to win, I don't see any reason for hesitation.

Huh? That's what he said about Jake.

I'm hoping he stays with Moore unless Moore gives him a good reason not to.

I think the plan is to give Clausen the year to adjust to the NFL and learn the offense. Only way I see him starting is if he comes in and is clearly head and shoulders above Moore.

i think you're pretty much dead on. if Clausen comes in and is lights out in camp and preseason and/or Moore sucks it up, Jimmy will be handed the job. i don't foresee Moore sucking it up, so short of Jimmy being lights out which i am not expecting because it's so uncommon for a rook QB to do so, Moore will get the nod just like Peete did over Jake, even though it was clear from preseason that Jake was the better QB. but just like with Peete, Fox will be quick to pull the trigger if he feels he needs to in order to win. Fox isn't going to be willing to tank the season just to protect Jimmy. he will ask him to grow up and take leadership quickly if that's what the team needs.

not sure i agree with your assessment of WR. i think chances are that we are going to see alot of the rooks, ready or not becase we don't have really any other option. but, you know they are going to be working overtime with them to get them up to speed. still, i guess there's still a chance they bring in a vet especially if the rooks don't impress at minicamp.

i think the biggest argument against starting rooks is that they are normally not physically ready to play at the NFL level. most of them need to add muscle and weight. Otah etc. being exceptions as they are blessed with that huge body so they can compete quickly. CBs are often an exception too because that position is more about speed/quickness than size so they can get those guys ready to play quick. Safeties take a while longer normally cause there's so much recognition and discipline to the position. most of the other positions on the field require physical development which i think was the case with DW.

again, i think you dead on ... maybe with the exception of your comment about Collins who had issues but i never thought of him as an ass. just stupid and making lots of bad decisions off the field. also, i think Capers handled the situation with him extremely poorly and contributed to his demise. Namath was pretty cocky too. didn't keep him from being a great QB.
