Big difference is their zone read plays favor their RB's. Morris was the one that lit up the Boys, not RGIII.

Morris is the big beneficiary in their use of it while ours is Cam. The arguement has been that OUR RB's suffer in the zone read, not Cam. Kinda strange that we never adapted at all and learned from what Washington were doing with the pistol formation. Most of our big RB runs I think came from the pitch option running the read but i could be wrong.

 

New formations are hard to install during the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see the pistol incorporated for 2013.
