typical of what we see on game days... Gamble in tight coverage... see how the safety is already coming over to help

Yes it is. 2.5 million/year for a player of his caliber is a pretty good bargain. When you consider that Bob Sanders is getting 7.5 million/year for always being hurt, then it makes Harris's number look even better.

Strange move. Its not like Harris is over the hill. His numbers did slip recently. But there is no way to think that he could keep up all those forced fumbles. Its kind of a random stat. I agree with most people's sentiment that we lost a good leader. We did bring back Brayton and still have Beason so the cupboard isn't bare but we've lost a lot in that department. Godfrey and Martin should be alright, but they were both pretty inconsistent though Godfrey's play did improve down the stretch.

Sometimes it seemed Charis Harris was the only one who would hit somebody (in the defensive backfield). Gamble is so lame I can't stand it

I guess they are anticipating that our pass rush will suffer with Peppers gone and therefore want better coverage players in the secondary.

It will be interesting to see if we can stop the run at all next season. We have smallish DTs and coverage safeties at both spots. Beason may be in for a long year trying to fight through 300 plus pound guard to get to the ball carrier.

True, Gamble isn't exactly a thumper, but Marshall seems to do alright, and isn't Munnerlyn a pretty decent tackler, too? And seems like Martin had a bit of a hitter's reputation coming out of college -- or am I wrong about that?

Call me a homer, but I guess I have more faith in our DTs than that. I think Tyler and Leonard will do okay. The weak side perimeter, however is a concern.
