    Welcome back "Philly."

On offense, anyone else think we'll see the Philly formation dusted off and used (near) exclusively through the first 3-4 possessions? Ball control, low risk offense that embodies the "a punt isn't necessarily a bad thing" philosophy.

On defense, do we really need to change the approach we used against the Giants? Personnel wise across the board they are weaker then the Giants but the same rules apply; stop the run, make the rookie beat you with his arm.

What's wrong with the Philly? Seriously, I'm interested in your opinion.

I say this only half kidding:

Time of possession will kill you, keep your defense on the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see the winning points scored by defense.

I'll probably worry more when Jake is on the field and we have the ball.

no team with as tough a defense as Chicago's do you simply plow at them for three downs, punt, and expect to be successful. I also don't honestly feel that Foster's at his best with a FB leading his way.

Nor do you give them the same look every down. At no point have we ever done that.

just once, I'd like to see Henning come out on offense with a four wide, no huddle scripted 10 plays or so.

That run right off the bat with a silent count would not be a bad idea. It would definitely be surprising. To everyone.

with our personnel usage, using no-huddle at some point would be interesting in the right game situation.

But I'd not do it out of strictly pass personnel.

especially interesting if we actually used it other than when we are way behind and it's only a coupla minutes left in the fourth; I'm biting my nails and my nexium ain't working anymore.

I think you're assuming we don't get any running first downs. I'm assuming we move the ball from that look. I'll throw in the Philly game and rewatch but I'm sure we both passed to the WR and back from that formation. Us showing run draws the safeties in requiring the DBs to back up. You can then run Power, Zero route to Smitty, Halfbacks to the flats or max protect, motion a halfback out with them in 4-3 and wind up with a linebacker on Goings, the occasional draws. All you lose is 3 wides. I still don't see how this formation plays into their strengths but I'm eager to hear opinions.
