his last name was given to him by a slave owner anyway, so ocho cinco means about as much

    Bobby Moore

Ahmad Rashād (born Robert Earl Moore November 19, 1949 in Portland, Oregon) is an Emmy award-winning sportscaster (mostly with NBC Sports) and former professional football player. An All-American running back and wide receiver from Oregon known as Bobby Moore, Rashad was the fourth overall pick in the 1972 NFL Draft, selected by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was the first skill-position player taken, following three lineman.

I'd rather have Ocho Cinco out being humorous instead of getting in trouble like so many of his teammates.

    1-he's not hispanic.
2-Since he's not Hispanic, what difference does it make if he's Ocho Cinco?
3-In many sports landscapes, players encourage or trash talk players by number...for example, "Keep your head up, 2-4." Ocho Cinco is 8-5. It's not wrong.

While I think it's another Chad "look at me" moment, it's his life. It is borish, and a certainly tired act (him demanding attention), but really, is it worth getting worked up about?
