No, I added the wrong year down when I looked up the stats, the 2000 year. My bad.

Still, he averaged the 4.7 yards per carry during those 18 games, which is fairly awesome. The point I was trying to make still holds. He was very productive, although perhaps underused, in a worse offense.

OK. He looks tenative to me. With more space, and a passing offense, sure, I can see a Rudi Johnson type season. Even Dayne looked good last year vs the Colts when they were struggling.

Throw in the fact that he hasn't bonded well with his teammates, I don't see him growing in Chi-town even if the passing game starts to come along.

I am starting to understand you a little better now though. In your mind if you grade out a player to be good then he is always good regardless of his production in the NFL, or lack of it. That is why you think Jake is easily replaced or that Benson and LJ are interchangable.

The part you miss is that the game has a mental aspect to it. Two backs of equal size and speed are not necessarily equal on the field. The ability to read blocks, find the hole, knowing the defense and its tendencies, etc are all mental parts of the game that can give one player an edge over another.

You too often discount production and rely on measurable physical qualities in players.

You are beyond stupid, honestly. You might be the only person in the world not to have noticed that I routinely admit when I'm wrong about players (LT, etc), or change my opinion when their performance warrants it (Foster, etc). Seriously man, I'm not calling you stupid just to be insulting or to make you do anything. I'm being completely serious when I say that you are one of the dumbest human beings I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. You are that stupid, and the hardest thing about it is that you're so dumb that you have no awareness of your own stupidity or your limitations. You actually think that you aren't mentally handicapped.
Idiot, did I or did I not provide facts to support both those positions? It is a fact that players with similar backgrounds to Jake "emerge" and have good seasons at quarterback every single season. It is not a rare occurrence by any stretch of the imagination. Jake is not "special" in that he's somehow better than all those guys, but rather he's "special" because Marty Hurney decided that he'd pay Jake huge money instead of either looking for a truly elite guy or simply finding the next Delhomme.

And as for Benson vs. LJ, I've proven my point with facts and statistics. Meanwhile have you provided any? Do you ever provide any? Hell no. You don't even show any contrition when I completely humiliate you in arguments like the Kemoeatu thread. It doesn't even phase you because you are so impossibly dense that the fact of your humiliation doesn't even penetrate your peanut brain.
I do not miss anything of the sort, you fucking retard. What did I say that I liked most about DeAngelo? I explained to morons like yourself that the reason I liked him so much was his feel for running the ball, his patience, and his vision. Williams is not a very fast RB and certainly not big, but I appreciated those other attributes. So tell me again that I miss that part of the game even though I'm the one who explained it to your dumb ass.

In fact, it's worth noting that you have a lengthy habit of repeating something I've said several days or weeks earlier and pretending that it's your own thought. I don't think anyone is fooled, but I genuinely wonder if you're aware that you're simply repeating me or if you are so unbelievably out of touch that you have no idea.
No I don't, you stupid fuck. I'm the one who constantly corrects idiots like you who pick pro prospects based on how fast they run the 40. You're the god damned moron who wouldn't know football skill if it was explained to you by someone who makes money covering the sport.

Please, please, please Thelt ask around to your friends and family and see if they'll tell you that you are truly a moron. Again, I am not just saying that to meaninglessly insult you. I badly want you to realize how abjectly stupid you are because once you realize that you're retarded, hopefully you'll accept your limitations.

Cedric Benson was reportedly arrested early Sunday in Texas for boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He is currently free on bond.
Just what he needs. And this isn't Benson's first infraction; he was found guilty of breaking into a woman's house as a collegiate in '04. It wound up costing him time in the Del Valle Correctional Facility. He was arrested in 2002 on marijuana charges. The reason for Sunday's arrest is uncertain.

Fighting for a starting job and now this. If someone else on the team other than Forte shows up who can carry the ball might persuade the Bears jettison this waste of a pick during training camp
