Educate me, now!!!

what's the difference between a cd burner and a cdrw.

what is a good program that i should use to burn cd's effectively.

One is a Memorex CRW-1622. Another is an Acer Re-writer. And the third one is some 40X generic cd-rom that my father purchased for me. Should I keep all three?

Which one should be my master? which ones should be the slaves?

I would keep the cd rom for general use just to keep the wear and tear down on your CDRW or burner.(there is no difference)

I use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Plantinum to make cds.

Mkay... we'll begin... CD-R and CD-RW are BOTH burners... CD-R can only Write one time(good for making copies of CDs and music CDs)... CD-RW can write and then rewrite later(good for saving files that will change)...

there are a few good programs... the easiest to learn will probably be Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 or Nero Burning Rom

You really only need to keep 2 of them... if at all possible I'd suggest using the CD-Rom IF it can read burnt CDs and the faster of the 2 writers... play ALL your CDs on the normal CD Rom and only use the burner for burning... that way there is less chance of screwing up the burner... plus its a little less time consuming some times....

...my biggest tip get one of those BIG ass bundles of blank CDs... and play around with the burner... you WILL fuck some up... but that's okay because you can get those bundles cheap... once you done a few you'll be a pro

I've never been able to burn music faster than 4x.

I've got a 24-10-40 and burn audio cd's @24x without a problem. I use musicmatch with the mp3 addon.

Ok, so i play my mp3's using Windows Media.

I go to play with Nero and drag over a music file...and it doesn't recognize the format since it is Windows Media.

No I need to reformat the music file?

Teach me more!!! ;)

If it's an MP3, it should recognize it. You are creating a CD right?

yes, i am. Well, all my music is .wma and Nero can't read the file.

wma? why? where'd you get it? if you ever rip your own music (that is, pull it from a CD to your computer) use only MP3 (or AIF if you're snooty).
