Makes me think Pioli knows something that we don't. Somthing for some leverage.

dunno. Seems like nothing for those 2 guys.

I think Vrabel was going to be released anyway, and according to Peter King the market for Cassel wasn't nearly as hot as the media made it out to be. Makes sense, given that you'd have to give an unproven guy a huge contract after whatever you gave up to get him. Keep in mind that it's fairly rare for teams to give up a first round pick in a trade. Marshall Faulk in the prime of his career only got a 2nd from St. Louis.

the trade sounds about right. remember when everyone lusted after scott mitchell when he filled in for the fish pretty well? then....blah.

also, playing off what collin said about faulk -- randy moss went to the pats for a fourth-rounder.

Lots of people smoking crack thinking Peppers is going to get a high 1st. Crack and heroin. 2 seconds would make me ecstatic.

High first? No. After 15, I can see that, though. After 23 or so, another pick behind it. There's not much market for some of these other trades happening, which sets less of a standard for future trades, but a franchise DE did just get traded last year.

They will get the #34 pick, I believe. Despite what the media and fans think, NFL GM's know Cassel is not that great. He took over the reigns of a loaded team that just went 16-0 with a strong offensive line and weapons at every other position. A lot of QB's would have won 11 games with that team and that schedule. Brady would have won at least 14 games with that team.

Vrabel was all done in NE anyway.

i very much agree! if we were able to land 2 2nd rounders! i would be quite excited.. i would like to trade him to detroit for their 20th and 33rd round picks (Detroits 2nd 1st rounder and 1st 2nd rounder) but even 2 of the patriots 2nd rounders would be nice.

and the reason they did the trade for cassell was to free up cap space! they know tom brady is their QB and i believe they have pep on there mind... they traded away those 2 players for a 2nd round pick? come on the patriots are smarter than that... they will send us 2 second rounders for him and everyone will be happy

So let just say that the Cats trade Peppers to NE for both of there
2 second rounders plus there 1st rd pick .As far Trade Value Chart would that = to a 2 1st rd pick? Also even though we would get both of NE second rounders plus there 1st rd pick .We should ask for anther 1st rd pick and we might even able to get NE to agree to it.First of all it won't be a high pick. And 2nd Peppers is a great player. And when you trade away a great player you should get alt in return

I heard the Broncos were willing to send Cutler away for Cassle and the team receiving Cutler IE Tampa, would send their pick to the Pats. Reports say that Cutler is pretty upset about the whole thing even though supposedly Denver didnt initiate the notion. I suspect Cutler is on his way out of Denver. I actually think Cutler is pretty good and would mind having him, he is reasonably young, strong armed and accurate I think.
