    Holy shit!

Good thing he plays QB. He should be able to come back from that, or at least I hope so. Jesus.

Palmer and Kitna are legitimately close, so this all but guarantees that he'll re-sign with the Bengals.

really? the guy's claiming a nuked knee - without actually describing it as that terrible - and he's "optimistic"?

I don't see anything career threatening in any of that. At worst, a frayed or tattered ACL or MCL would just be dissolved and completely replaced. You'd figure they'd found jagged bone spurs, massive cartilage loss, and cancer in there the way that guy's talking.

either way, damn good for his agent for pushing through a monster extension in a timely manner. It's not like he was grossly underpaid, but to get guaranteed money right at that point is a win for him, if not for his career or for the Bengals. Much rather have that than a Javon Walker, and those two cases will come up a lot when people talk about franchising in the next few years.

The doctor is saying that he's "optimistic" that Palmer will be able to play again, which is a pretty dire prognosis. Usually there's no doubt regarding whether or not a player can return to the field, just a matter of when.

Not sure why it is they didn't use a cadaver for a lot of the surgery. They say the recovery time is shorter when using one.
