    That's stupid. Captain America was a skinny white honkey during WW2.

    According to current Marvel continuity, the first Captain America was a black soldier named Isaiah Bradley. Doubt they want to go that way with the franchise though since it was a riff on the Tuskeegee experiments.

    is that one of those things where 5 years ago they change the background of the character to update it to modern times? I never recall a black captain america

    Ret-conned mini series from back around 2003 called Truth:Red, White & Black.

    The character has entered regular continuity in the main Marvel Universe and is the grandfather of Young Avengers character Patriot.
