    took his cap number for 2008 and subtracted the salary/roster bonus, etc, and multiplied that by years remaining.

    Though, if he had 3 years remaining, 2008's on the books so technically 2 years would accelerate, so that'd be a cost of $2.3 million v/s salary and bonuses of $2.85 mil, or a $550k gain. Oops, messed that up.

    gotcha. according to my document, there are only two years remaining on his signing bonus. 2010 is clear of any pro-rated amounts.

    he is. but there are no pro-rated monies on the books for the cap in 2010. If you look at your spreadsheet, the cap number equals the Base Salary plus Reporting Bonus for 2010. There's only $2.4 million in pro-rated money remaining on his contract.

    OK - was it a 5 year deal that they extended by a year without additional bonus?
