I see us adding a top free agent tackle, or keeping Gross and then adding one or two guys in the draft. Our OL has been nothing special so I am for shaking it up.

I'm missing these top free agent tackles. Gross is as good as it gets.

Flozell Adams and Max Starks are the main two I can think of.

Starks wasn't starting this year, except for injury.

Adams is aging, and don't expect a discount - so you're paying your own guy, that you know, versus a ten year guy, who you don't. Adams also had 9 false starts, 14 penalties.

He's an alternative, but IMO not as good of one. The other available offensive tackle with experience is Travelle Wharton. Then you have Todd Steussie, who besides not being good anymore was injured all last year, and Nat Dorsey, the oversized backup RT who has started 9 games in his career.

I'm OK with him left, but I like the first round tackles at LT more.

Agree, but will any of them last to #13?

fuck if I know, the draft's three months away :FOFRBanana0518HL:

as it stands now, I'm satisfied with Long, Clady, or Williams starting left side. If consolation prize is Cherilus or Otah in a trade down at RT, then it is what it is, but as much as I don't think Fox would want to start a LT right off as a rookie, I'd rather have an upgrade at LT than to move Gross, not get better there, and have no change at RT.

Not sure if this was mentioned but 1.25 Million credit for Peppers not making the Pro Bowl. Some kind of bonus to Smith now being guaranteed so it can be pro-rated. Also something about bonuses built into Carter and Digg's contract were not met.

According to Chuck Howard these items just cleared 6.7 Million and after offseason releases there may be an estimated 20 Million in cap space.
