That doesn't fit, no. He's still working on who he wants to be, and we like a specific type.of guy that doesn't need to change.

That was an interview, and I highly doubt King asked about Newton's thoughts on whether he's an entertainer.

Well, since we pretty much know that both Auburn boys are total dickfaces, that leaves us with Bowers. I guess I'll get down with that.

"...not only as a football player, but as an entertainer and an icon."

At first I thought this was simple blow, but to tell the truth, I kinda hope whoever the Panthers pick thinks of himself this way.

After almost a decade of John Fox, I'm ready for a little excitement around these parts.

    yeah.

I mean I'm completely intrigued by Fairley, but I saw him play before the NC game. And most of those criticisms on one fits the other very well.
I'm still where I was in December, hoping for a trade down.

    Whats wrong with this?

Entertaining = exciting player, fun to watch, gives good interviews etc
Icon = One of the best players in his sport, ala Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning, Phil Mickelson, Roger Federer, etc.

These are both qualities this team could really use.

Without a rookie wage scale, trade down need not be discussed at all. Why should anyone trade up?

All this trade down talk irritates me because it's like saying, "man, sure would be nice if some C-notes started falling out of my ass."

Because saying it doesn't make it so.
