He is like a living cartoon superhero who is also the leader of my favorite ever sports team.

 

It's crazy, but great. I see him play and see the endorsements, and realize he's going to be the MVP, but being on the "inside" of it as opposed to being the fan of another team looking at it that way, it snuck on me. People are talking of him in terms of being the face of the NFL, the whole thing is about to blow up. As long as we have him under contract, I'm all for it.

 

He absolutely seems to lift the team. My wife has missed most games this season, but saw second half last night. I'm all stressed out from PTSD over giving up leads.

I think it was after the long throw to Ginn or Olsen, but Cam skipped down the field to the line of scrimmage. He didn't need to superman into the end zone (after his 3rd and 10 run for a first down where he carried a defender), but he did.

When he threw the TD to Funchess, he got hit and was smiling the whole time.

I tell ya, this is exciting.

I have been a devoted fan of the Panthers since their inception. Been to many games live, though we live quite a drive away. Been to a few away games being just lucky sometimes with tix/scheduling. Only missed a game or two due to activities like funerals or wedding, etc. - though those times listened to as much as possible live on the radio and such, of course watching later because I record all the games. I've mentioned this before, prolly, so forgive the repetitiveness if so.

Have been in trouble with the wifey many times, as such, scheduling things in our lives around their games.

She's never been that much of a fan of the panthers, though an ardent NCSU football and basketball fan with season tix and such.

Last year she started to become more of a panthers' fan.

Now, I'm sure winning helped, she watches the games now with real interest and absolutely loves Cam. The whole excitement of the team, both offense and defense, but in particular loves her some Cam, personally now and professionally. He has passed Russell Wilson as her fav player. And that's saying a lot. We have dear friends in Seattle and her best friend, especially, who has something to do with security for the Seahawks, and damned if they don't text shit talk back and forth when we play now. That started in earnest last year reg season. Now it's blown up.

Cam has had a lot to do with her new-found love of the Panthers, even after all these years and I'm glad. She'll re-watch dang Cam commercials even. She loves his smile and such, along with the real life shit like charity work and such. It's amazing.

I don't mean it literally. I'm sure she's a great lady. I just couldn't imagine myself marrying someone who wasn't as into the Panthers as I am. That's a prerequisite.

 

I married her 9 years before the Panthers were born.
