Any advice on where to get a low cost desktop? My old compaq is seven years old now and while it still works well it is getting out-dated.

You should check out this crazy new cpu. I heard it's called a "pentium"...

..of course, that sounds like "pentagram", which is obviously the debbil!

    Check out Dell.

You can keep an eye on slickdeals.net and digitaldeals.com and fing coupons all the time. Usually good deals near the end of the week.

I just got a Dell 2 weeks ago. about $1080 total but it kicks ass. flat screen, dvd burners, upgraded sound card w/spkrs and sub, free shiping, wireless mouse & keyboard(highly suggest), 80gb hard drive.

the graphics card upgrade(not integrated)was included. also Im not an online game nerd who needed the best graphics money can buy. I just got what I needed to surf TBR and a little porn . yeah , I did order it from Balki in India, but he spoke very good english. better than Dukey anyway. Im just smart enough with computers that I hope I never need online tech support . I got a friend who is a "computer guy" if I do.

I am an online game nerd... or will be again when Battlefield 2 comes out. Ridicule me all you want.

(GPUs have now gotten more expensive than the mainboard/ram/cpu).
