    I've reconsidered:

Why would you not hang on the Proehl this year? You know he would play for around/at the same salary as Hankton. At worst, you have a quality veteran in the mix that you may need to deactivate once in a while. Not to mention that Colbert could tweak that ankle, or god forbid Smitty go down again.

Why could Hankton not be moved to Safety. Or just be slotted as a specialist. You mean to tell me that this team will need Jermaine Hardy more than Ricky Proehl next year? Sometimes, I just don't understand these moves. I suppose I am just too much of a novice, and the pros should just handle it.

Whatever. I just don't see the logic. We are a balanced football team, running to set up the pass. You could use 5W, every Sunday. You could at least use 4, and Proehl > Colbert, right now.

We don't need more than four. If someone goes down for an extended period, and Proehl is still available, then he should be the first guy we look at. But I think having five would be unreasonable.

If Proehl gets another look from Carolina, it won't be until after the draft, and possibly after the post draft minicamp.

I certainly understand the conundrum that they're in. And I am sure they'd love to keep him. Problem is, Colbert's too young to dump, and he's not worth dumping anyway. I still get uneasy about KC though. I don't think Hankton being a "WR" should mean than we could not keep 5 others. I do understand that keeping 5 would be odd for us, but it would give us options.

Proehl's going to be signed by someone before camp opens. We couldn't just go out and snag him. I guess the focus of this thread should have been less about Proehl leaving, and more about Colbert needing to step it the fuck up.
