Our defense should stop running cover 3's/soft zones so much, leaving soft areas underneath. That's one thing that killed us in the passing defense. Even though they only allowed 138 yds, that short passing game runs out the clock and keeps the ball moving.

Did any of you see the end of that Dallas/KC game? That was great. That play action tricked everyone. Literally, everyone.

Fuck y'all for being sorry enough to not just win and cover my teaser.

Thank y'all for being sorry enough to keep it under.

    That is all.

Yeah, I was complaining in the game chat about Lucas playing off. He's a real good tackler and made some hits but they're catching a lot of balls in front of him.

Very little pressure on Simms. They keep 7 into block and we rush 3. He had soup and a sandwich while looking for his receivers.

That's actually not a bad plan. Blitzing 5 or 6 into max protect only plays into their hands. The problem is that 8 god damn defenders should be able to cover the 2 or 3 receivers running routes.

Any pro quarterback, given that kind of time can find an open receiver.

And why were the Bucs so good on 3rd?

They were so good, primarily because they converted short passes to set up third-down-and-short-yardage situations.

"We usually give up those check-down routes, and today it came back to bite us," said safety Marlon McCree. "We normally protect the deeper ball and make them throw the check-downs, but today it worked in their favor.

"They were catching the ball for five, six and seven yards. They were then lining up on third-and-1 and converting."

I know that it's repeated a lot, but that's actually not true. New England has been very effective over the last two years with dropping nearly everyone into coverage against Peyton Manning, and it worked. Eventually even those three guys will start to collapse the pocket, and the QB gets antsy because he's not used to waiting that long.

And the defense is fooling themselves if they think all of those third down conversions were short ones. We had quite a few long yardage third down conversions as well, mostly because we kept playing soft coverage.
