I think the Panthers were pretty high on Basanez before his injury. Another reason not to bring in another qb (unless it's for an extra arm during training camp).

I'd be all over Gradkowski if he'd have no problem being the 3rd QB. He's an upgrade to Basanez

    I respectfully disagree.

The "draft guys" didn't have a clue and fell for a smoke screen that 90% of average Panther fans could see through easily.

Moore earned the backup role last year, and any vet that's out of a job at the beginning of the season probably isn't someone I'd take over a young QB that the staff already likes in Basanez. I'd be even less likely to want them if they're West Coast guys like the Buc QBs.

And, as has been mentioned, if our top two QBs go down, we're screwed (same as pretty much any other team that loses it's top two).

I'm a huge Basanez fan, but I really like the way that Gradkowski played for a while. Then he just lost it.

That's what happens when you throw a 6th round rookie out of Toledo into a John Gruden Chinese Calculus offense.

exactly. If BOTH get hurt this year we're screwed like last year, but you can't carry 5 starters at QB all year.

What's the deal with Basanez anyway? He was set to be our #2 until he got hurt. And all the draft guys were acting like he doesn't exist and we only have 2 QBs on the roster.

Just shows that a lot of national media guys don't do their own research and they just repeat stuff that other people say.

Bas put up great numbers at N'western - when they were good, the year before their coach died. He was playing in a good system with good competition.

He did nothing other than throw a lot of nice passes here before he got hurt, which was a bitch because he would have done a good job when Jake went down/Carr sucked.

    Unless you're Jon Gruden.
